Home Office Decorating Competition

Homecoming Instagram (@UMSLhomecoming)

We want YOU to show your Triton pride through a friendly home office decorating competition. All you have to do is grab whatever spirited decorations you have around the house (anything that's red, gold, or has Louie) - use your imagination!


Then, decorate your home office set up, take a photo, and post it to your Instagram account or Instagram story (it has to be public so we can see it) by tagging @umslhomecoming and using #UMSLhomecoming. Submissions will be accepted January 15 (8:00am) - February 1 (8:00am).


The first place prize is a speaker for your home office.


If you're participating, be sure to RSVP so we can send you some free decorating goodies, as well as a reminder email with all the rules. RSVP on MyEngage.


Then, we will be sharing everything on the Homecoming Instagram (@UMSLhomecoming) on February 4. There is a grand prize for our top 3 winners!!

Most Spirited Pet Contest

We want to see which UMSL pet has the most school spirit! Dress your pet up in your favorite UMSL gear or UMSL colors (homemade costumes are encouraged). Then, take a photo of your pet, and send it to homecoming@umsl.edu or DM us on social media (@umslhomecomoing), along with:


- Your name


- Your pet’s name


- A fun fact about your pet


Submissions will be accepted now - January 31 (11:59pm). Then, we will be sharing everything on the Homecoming Instagram (@UMSLhomecoming) starting on February 2. This will be a bracket-style contest, so keep an eye out on our Instagram stories so you & your friends can vote.


There is a grand prize for our top 3 winners, which will be announced on February 5!! The first place prize is an item of your choice from the UMSL Bookstore (valued $75 or less).

Triton Scavenger Hunt

Join our Homecoming Triton scavenger hunt! This event will be a multiple-day challenge with new activities each day! Here's how it's going to work:


The challenge will take place February 8 - 10 between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm each day. Each day on our Homecoming social media we will release a clue to a secret location on campus. You'll have to solve the clue, visit the secret location, and take a selfie with the secret clue we've hidden. 


You'll need to post your photo to your Instagram account (it must be public for us to see it), tag @UMSLhomecoming, and use #UMSLhomecominghunt. If you get the answer correct, you will gain a point (you can get up to 1 point per challenge). If you have the wrong answer, no points will be awarded. Your name will be entered into a drawing for every point you've earned.


At the end of the challenge, we will gather up everyone's points. For every point you earn, you will be entered into our GRAND PRIZE drawing! The first place prize is an item of your choice from the UMSL Bookstore (valued $75 or less). The winter will be announced at the basketball live stream on Thursday, February 11.


P.S. - Keep your eyes peeled. There will be fun smaller prizes on campus throughout the week!

Students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to give back to the community by bringing in canned food donations, masks, and hand sanitizer to our service drive. All proceeds will be donated to the Triton Food Pantry and Pagedale Family Support Center. Donation wish lists are coming soon!


If you have a Homecoming royalty court candidate you are supporting, we encourage you to drop your donations in their royalty donation box. This will help them earn points towards becoming our 2021 Homecoming Royalty winner.


For every five donations you bring in, your name will be entered into a drawing for Triton Swag!

Homecoming Spirit Paint Night

Join us for a relaxing night of painting! We will be hand painting a picture with instructions led by a live instructor! Even if you don't have any experience painting, don't worry, you can still join in on this class! It will be a night of creating and relaxation.


All supplies (12 x 16 - canvas, 3 piece brush set, 6 piece acrylic paint set, apron, paint palette, and paper towel sheet set) will be provided to the first 100 people who register (limit one kit per person). The supplies will be shipped directly to your house, so please include your address on the RSVP. All other required instructions will be emailed to people who RSVP.


RSVP on MyEngage (under the events tab). RSVP IS REQUIRED! In order to get your kit shipped to your house, you just register by January 24.

Chili Feed Lunch Pick Up

To keep the Chili Feed spirit alive, we will be offering to-go lunch packs that including our winning chili (vegetarian option available), toppings, and cornbread, and dessert sponsored by the Be Inspired Volunteer Committee. Tickets are required!


Tickets will be available for $5.00/ticket. Students may also purchase tickets using meal swipes (1 swipe = 2 tickets). Half of every ticket sold from the Chili Feed will go to the Pagedale Family Support Center. Tickets are available for purchase through February 8 at all Sodexo on-campus locations or online. Tickets are required to be purchased by February 8 if you want to participate in the Chili Feed pick up lunch.


In order to vote for the chili that will be featured in the to-go lunch, we encourage you to check out the recipes (maybe even try them out at home for a taste test) at homecoming.umsl.edu. Then, vote for your favorite one from January 25 - February 3.

Join Tiny Tritons for our annual Homecoming Pancake Breakfast. This year we will be holding the event virtually! Dancakes will be teaching everyone how to create fun and exciting pancakes from our home kitchen. Don't worry, all designs we learn to make will be kid-friendly. Dancakes will walk us through a fun and interactive presentation on how to make creative pancakes at home, and you & your kids can join in making them at home.


An adult will be required to stay with their Tiny Triton(s) throughout the entire duration of this event to assist the child(ren) with the cooking process. The event will start promptly at 10:00am, so only register if you’re able to stay for the entire duration of the event.


Pancake kits with coloring gel and squeeze bottles will be provided to the first 50 people who register (limit one kit per family). Pick up will be available in Millennium Student Center 366 beginning in February. All other required equipment will be emailed to people who RSVP.
